Ambleside Park

Don’t be deceived by the urban surroundings of this waterfront park, over 200 species have been observed here and it is a popular birding destination year round. Take your time as you explore the forested trails that lead you first to a freshwater pond, and then onwards to the mouth of the Capilano River and the sandbar it has created in the Burrard Inlet. Species to watch for as you explore the area include Harlequin Duck, Pacific Slope Flycatcher and Belted Kingfisher.
