Horseshoe Bay

The village of Horseshoe Bay is worth a visit not only for its bustling centre with many shops, cafes and restaurants, but for the over 150 species of birds that have been spotted in the region year round. The mild climate makes the area a popular overwintering site for waterfowl, and sightings of Barrow’s Goldeneye, Western Grebes and Pelagic Cormorants are common. Spend some time discerning your gulls and you may spot a Ring-Billed or Short-Billed amongst the flocks that frequent the area.
